I’ve known Tom his whole life. He has been in the knife business for about 40 years now. He started by mastering the skill of sharpening, and worked his way into creating from raw steel. He now has the equipment to heat treat the blades and create a quality custom blade in many configurations. Various styles for different purposes, with a variety of handles and made to fit sheaths. He made me a replica of my Ruana Model M that was of the highest quality. It is just too beautiful to get blood on! Tom make a top quality knife that he stands behind with confidence.
I was skeptical at first because I’ve had other hand forged knives that didn’t work well for me. The first time I held the Price knife I noticed the excellent ergonomics, the balance and comfort just felt right in my hand and it didn’t stop impressing me there, I gutted out 25 bears, skinned another 5 and skinned and quartered a moose before I needed to sharpen the blade. Not only do you get a top quality hand forged knife it comes with a hand made leather sheath that holds the knife perfectly! This is now my go to knife that stays on my side for any outdoor excursion I’d feel lost without it!
I’ve been using Price Knives blades for nearly ten years. The quality is terrific and they hold an edge incredibly well. I asked Tom for a skinner and a nesmuk and he went to work on the designs, offering several different options for both.
